Healthy Snacks
If you are trying to lose weight or just trying to eat healthier, snacks can be very tempting. But there are alternatives that take very little time and effort to prepare.
Salsa will add a little kick to any food and can take the edge off of hunger when combined with healthy snack foods. Often, snacks do not satisfy because they are bland but some mild or spicy salsa can solve the dilemma.
Boil some eggs and then remove the yokes. Simply use the whites to dip the salsa.
Baby carrots, sliced carrots or celery can also be used to dip salsa.
Shredded Wheat is also a good alternative to use for dipping.
Air popped popcorn makes a good snack when watching your favorite movie or TV show. Don’t have an air popper? Simply put some popcorn kernels in a brown paper lunch bag, fold the end and secure it. Place in the microwave and pop. You can sprinkle the popcorn with butter salt, garlic salt or any other spice that strikes your taste buds.
